The EPA is having a meeting about this Data Center wastewater permit this afternoon! But, you can still send in your comments because they aren't voting yet, just discussing it. Please click the link and tell them what you think about them being able to discharge the water into our waterways! https://saveohioparks.org/2025/12/14/tell-ohio-epa-no-general-wastewater-permits-for-ohio-data-centers/?fbclid=IwdGRzaAOvy6ZjbGNrA6_LoGV4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkDDM1MDY4NTUzMTcyOAABHuVsfgdsTkq9snwEeSPkWOlnMMheMIES3mqIvItF5WjH59g20i6inMGIpyxx_aem_3bkDQYoxjPXuCUi6dKE3YQ

The Ohio EPA's draft proposal would fast-track wastewater permits for data centers without reviews needed to ensure public health and safety.

The Lorain County Comissioners put out a notice of public meeting. This would be about sewage disposal facilities and zoning codes. Why are they wanting to make these changes? Some of us need to attend!

City council meeting tonight at 6pm!

11/14/2025

Watch News Channel 5 at 4:30 and 5:30 today (11/14/25) for an update on the City of Vermilion fighting the recent Charter Amendment that just passed. Here is my complete statement:
There is no excuse for the city to use our tax dollars to fight against the will of the people! We need new roads and a 68 million dollar water treatment plant, not lawsuits against our own citizens. Abraham Lincoln defined democracy as "Government of the people, by the people and for the people." That is what we are asking for. I am asking the Vermilion City Council to vote NO on any lawsuits! Please spend our money on where it's needed!!
I encourage you to plan to attend the City Council Meeting this Monday, 11/17/25 at 6PM and let your voice be heard! -Carrie Ott

If you cannot attend Monday, Nov. 10 Vermilion City Council Meeting and are concerned (who wouldn't be, IMHO) here is a quick sample of what you can submit to [email protected] by Noon Friday 11/7/25. Clarification: It is $6000 For installation and $30,000 per year; it’s a 24 month contract, So $66,000 total for 2 years, with continuing fees yearly beyond that. I am against the approval of the Flock surveillance camera system and any other similar system that may be proposed now or in the future. We have other more pressing priorities and losing our liberty is not one of them. Why do you feel that we need such invasive surveillance in our little town? I feel this would create a loss of liberty and is government being overly invasive. We have urgent priorities, such as the roads, sewage treatment, etc. and this is not and never should be one of them, as citizens of the U.S.A. Save the $66,000 and continuing fees involved to use elsewhere. I strongly urge you to vote NO for the Flock surveillance camera system!

Please plan to attend the Vermilion City Counsel Meeting Monday November 10th at 6PM to let our voices be heard about the purchase of these Flock cameras! If you can't be there to speak, please send and email to them. Letters have to be in by noon tomorrow(11/06/25). See the details below. The cost is $60,000 and $30,000 a year to maintain them.

Election Day was yesterday, looking forward…

Next Monday, 6pm at the courthouse, City Council will most likely vote 6-1 to approve a $66000 contract to install another 10 cameras in town. But, these ones will monitor and track the movements of everyone in Vermilion 24/7!

Feel free to share your thoughts here or even better, come speak at the council meeting, or write in and let council know how you feel [email protected] deadline for letters is tomorrow at noon.
