Wow has a lot been going on at the homestead. Let me give you the most recent updates...
1. I recently returned from driving out east for a new tool to assist with our homestead chores. It was well worth the time!!
2. I tried hard to prepare our colonies while I would be out of town. Unfortunately, I think 1 or 2 of my colonies swarmed today while I was catching up on my chores. Oh well, it was worth the sacrifice.
3. Good news: It looks like all of my honey supers have been filled in my absence. I am ready to start harvesting my second round of honey.
4. I am getting ready for Jefferson Days of '59 market on Saturday 7/11/26 from 11am to 4pm.
5. Before leaving, I filled more jars for McCook Lake Izaak Walton League but was unable to label them until I returned. They will be available starting tomorrow 7/10. I apologize for the delay.
6. Fingers crossed the swarmed colonies will end up in 1, 2 or all 3 of my swarm traps. 🤞
Who says retirement life is easy?? I wouldn't change a thing, LOL.
