Don Blankenau discusses the SAM Project's water projects in Zambia during the June 3, 2026 Vermillion Rotary Club Meeting. These projects are bringing water to very rural, arid areas of Zambia where there is little water available during eight months of the year. Many of these projects have been funded by Rotary International Grants. Learn more about just one of many wonderful projects being funded by Rotarians around the globe. Dr. Thomas Marshall of the SD Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources' SD Geological Survey discusses the Ground Water Quality Monitoring Network. This network consists of 148 active monitoring wells in 83 sites that track the quality of water in 25 aquifers. The network determines the present ground water quality, short term changes as well as long term trends.

Vermillion teachers Kami Dibley and Lenni Billberg joined the Vermillion Rotary Club to discuss the upcoming trips to Ratigen Germany, Vermillion's sister city, by Vermillion High School students in the GAPP (German American Partnership Program) program and other Vermillion residents. It is with great sadness that we note the passing of our friend, Jim Wilson. In Rotary and in all aspects of his life, Jim was a wonderful servant of his community. Vermillion High School Instructors Kami Dibley and Lenni Billberg accept the ceremonial "big check" from Vermillion Rotary to help with the funding for this Summer's German American Partnership Program (GAPP) trip to Germany. The funds will help with the escalating costs of travel for the 22 Vermillion School District students who will have this wonderful opportunity. Don't worry, they were also given a normal sized check. :-)
