other patrons or staff without the permission of the Library Administrator or designated person. Attendees and/or participants consent to having their photograph taken and used for such purposes. 🚨 SUMMER READING UPDATE: WE HAVE A LEAD CHANGE! 🚨

The Unearth a Story Summer Reading Program is officially a nail-biter! We have been crunching the latest numbers here at the Edith B. Siegrist Vermillion Public Library, and the teams are trading places!

Here is where the competition stands today:

👥 Total Readers: Team Meowasaurus Rex (Cats) has squeaked into the lead with 140 readers, beating Team Tricera Pups (Dogs) by a single person (139)! 🐈🦖
📖 Total Entries: The feline dinos are keeping their lead here, logging 741 entries compared to the Pups' 700.
⏱️ Total Reading: PLOT TWIST! Team Tricera Pups has pulled ahead where it counts, taking the lead with 50,905 reading metrics logged! But Team Meowasaurus Rex is right on their heels with 50,567! 🐕🦕

The Tricera Pups are currently winning the reading race by just 338 points!

Through the Check Out South Dakota State Parks program, library patrons can borrow a South Dakota State Parks pass and explore parks, recreation areas, and nature areas across the state. While you're out exploring, don't forget to participate in Adventure 250,South Dakota's statewide challenge celebrating 250 years of America through outdoor recreation and discovery!

Visit participating state parks and recreation areas, complete fun challenges, and submit your adventures for chances to win weekly prizes throughout the summer. Every adventure also helps you earn points toward Adventure 250 recognition and rewards.

"The secrets buried in the past don't always stay there..." 🔎

The Vermillion Public Library invites you to step into the shoes of a lead investigator this summer. The infamous archaeologist, El Jefe, has been murdered, and the file is officially on your desk.

Starting June 29th, come by the library front desk to claim your official Murder Mystery packet. You'll have exactly one month to piece together the evidence, interrogate the clues, and find the killer before our live Reveal Event on July 29th at 6:30 PM.

📌 Case Details:

Dates: June 29th – July 29th

Age: Adults (19+)

Style: Self-directed, solve it at your own pace!

Note: If you can't make the live reveal, we will post the results here on July 30th.

Don't forget to join us next Tuesday, June 23rd at 6:30 PM for Dino Bingo in the Kozak Room! We are teaming up with the United Way of Vermillion for a night of family fun, great prizes, and community giving.

Instead of a ticket, entry is a simple exchange: bring in a donation of much-needed items at the door to get your Bingo card!

The teams are now perfectly tied with 136 readers each! However, Team Meowasaurus Rex is still holding onto their lead in both the total number of entries and the total metrics logged.
