Our USD Head Start team spent Friday, May 15th learning, laughing, connecting, and celebrating together at our All-Staff Meeting!

Staff participated in several fun team-building activities, enjoyed a yummy lunch from the Lunch Box Food Truck, and celebrated the many years of service dedicated by several incredible team members.

We also proudly unveiled our new mission statement and logo as we look ahead to an exciting new chapter for USD Head Start!

A big thank you to our amazing staff for the energy, heart, and teamwork you bring to our program every single day.

We are still basking in the afterglow of a wonderful evening (Thursday, May 7th) celebrating our Head Start families at our Family Appreciation Event! 💙 We were thrilled to welcome 95 wonderful humans for an evening of great food, family fun, and community connection.

Families enjoyed a delicious baked potato meal prepared and served by 9 dedicated Head Start staff members, with support from generous donations from Vermillion Runnings, Vermillion Walmart, and Vermillion Hy-Vee.

During the evening, our Head Start Director, Bonita, shared exciting program updates, including the great news that we met our in-kind grant match goal for the 2025–2026 school year and that we are currently recruiting and accepting families for the 2026–2027 school year.

To top off the night, families enjoyed an exciting presentation from SDPB featuring Science Steve as well as lots of fun goodies to take home!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success and for Beresford Zion United Methodist Church for letting us use your space to host! ✨

Our USD Head Start team is hard at work gathering supplies and getting everything ready for our Program Wide End-of-the-Year Event that will take place tomorrow! 🎉

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our community partners who helped make this baked potato bar event possible:

Runnings Stores donating all of the cases of water for the event

Hy-Vee for providing all of our potatoes (175 of them!🤯), milk, butter, cheese, salt & pepper, and noodles

Walmart Vermillion for a $100 gift card to help us purchase additional supplies to make this event complete!
