Update at 10 AM: Hazardous material removal activities at Churchill-Haines have been completed. Churchill-Haines, the Beacom School of Business and Parking Lot 2 have reopened. Normal activities may resume.

⚠ Today, USD is working with a disposal crew to safely remove potentially hazardous materials from Churchill-Haines. Out of an abundance of caution, we ask that individuals stay away from the building during the removal process, which will begin at 9 a.m. The campus community will be notified when the process is complete. ⚠

Whether you’re making a quick breakfast before class or cooking dinner with friends, remember: a few extra seconds can prevent a big problem. 👀

Stay in the kitchen when you’re cooking, keep anything flammable away from the stove, turn pot and pan handles inward, and make sure everything is turned off when you’re done.

🧺🔥 Laundry Day is already a chore. Don’t let it become a fire hazard!

As you’re getting settled into your college routine, take a few extra seconds to keep laundry safe. Clean the lint trap every time you use the dryer, don’t overload the machines, and never leave a dryer running if you’re heading out.

A little laundry-day awareness can go a long way! 👕🧦

If you’re going out this weekend, have fun, but look out for yourself and your friends, too. Pace yourself, know your limits, keep an eye on your friends, and never drink and drive. There’s always a safe way to get home!
