Roosevelt Update

Ryan reports that at the end of the school year he challenged the students he works with to advocate for themselves and begin applying for jobs over the summer and several of those students took the leap of faith and have begun applying for jobs and for higher education. The Duchesne County area has seen a surge in advocacy efforts with the recent Disability Law Center event and others. These events aid in bringing new opportunities to disabled individuals in Duchesne County. Vernal office update
In April, Jamie assisted with transportation so consumers from the area could participate in outings with other consumers from Carbon and Emery Counties. Consumers visited Dinosaur National Monument, Flaming Gorge, and museums in Vernal. In June Active Re-Entry partnered with the Disability Law Center to host a community meeting. Consumers and community members attended to discuss the needs of individuals with disabilities and share ideas on how to improve resources and support within our community. We appreciate everyone who participated and contributed to the conversation. Staff also attended the Safe Kits Bash, where they helped set up a resource booth. The event brought together many organizations that provide valuable services and information to families and community members.

Active Re-Entry is excited to participate in Dinosaurlands Passport to Summer . Passport to summer encourages children and families to explore local businesses throughout Vernal during the summer months. Participants receive a passport book featuring 104 local businesses, each offering a unique activity or experience. To earn a stamp from Active Re-Entry, participants are encouraged to complete an act of kindness or service for someone with a disability.
