The Lake Prairie Trailblazers is a 501(c)(3) approved non-for-profit parent and child organization that is 100% volunteer run within the Lake County Illinois area. The program focus is the adventures of a parent and child within Tribes that are grouped into Nations. At the forefront of the program are the four points, which give members a sense of direction and an inspiration for activities. These

points are broad enough in scope to allow for variety and creativity in designing activities. The four main direction points on the compass are the essential components of the program. Family — fostering the relationship between parent and the child
Nature — the camping experience
Spirit — experienced through belonging to a small community, called a Tribe
Fun — the magic of the program
The Trailblazer Core Values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility make up the other directional points. Along the journey, adults should model, teach, and demonstrate these values as well as give children many opportunities to practice and celebrate them. Adults should also point out and discuss with children any behavior that is inconsistent with these values. Initially, these four values provide guidance in helping children select activities, make decisions, and choose appropriate courses of action — both in the program and in their lives. As children grow, these values become their own internal compass. The Main Points allow you and your Tribe members to personalize rituals, activities, and events. You can develop Compass Point activities relevant to your own town and your own common experiences. For example, a group in Texas may build a theme around Texas explorers and pioneers, while a group on the coast may use a scuba or water exploration theme. In each case family, fun, nature, and community might take on a slightly different meaning. We have designed Lake Prairie Trailblazers program for parents or other significant adults in children’s lives and their children. An adult and their child or children must attend program activities together.

🛼 Lake Prairie - I hope this finds everybody happy but most importantly HEALTHY. I know it's been a long winter but Are you Ready to Skate?

Next Saturday, April 24th is the Lake Prairie Federation 2021 Roller Skating Event at Just for Fun 2 Roller Rink in Mundelein.

As a reminder, the details are:

Saturday 24/Apr/2021
9 am – 1 pm
Location: Just For Fun Roller Rink, 139 N. Seymour St. Mundelein, IL 60060

Please note that masks will be required in the facility but optional (but encouraged) while skating. Please social distance when you go for food or any time you are not wearing your mask. Also, please wash or sanitize your hands. We want this to be a fun but safe event for everyone. That means we have to be vigilant with our Covid prevention

Even though all the in-person events for the year have been canceled, that doesn't mean that the fun has to stop. Put on your vest & show us your best in LPF's Got Talent Showcase!!

WHY have a virtual talent show? Because FUN isn't canceled!

WHEN can entries be sent in? Start sending submissions on 5/1. Include program names of all participants, age (optional), tribe, nation
