National Recognition for D128 Voices Podcast

District 128 is proud to announce that D128 Voices, the district’s podcast, has received an Award of Excellence in the 2026 Publications and Digital Media Awards presented by the National School Public Relations Association. The Award of Excellence is the highest honor awarded in the competition.

D128 is one of only 25 school districts nationwide to earn this distinction, recognizing excellence in school communications and storytelling.

NSPRA’s Publication and Digital Media Awards recognize outstanding tactical materials such as publications, newsletters, videos, podcasts, websites, social media and more. Entries are judged within their category for organizations of similar type and size. Each entry is judged on its overall excellence and its quality relative to other entries in the category. The award is featured on the NSPRA website (https://www.nspra.org/Awards/Award-Winners/Publications-and-Digital-Media-Excellence-Winners-2026 ) and will be celebrated at the National NSPRA Seminar in July.

Student-athletes are building skills, strengthening teamwork, and preparing for their upcoming seasons alongside their coaches and teammates. We're excited to see their hard work, dedication, and pride on display during the summer months and beyond!

Creative Writing Students Explore Non-Traditional Writing Styles

On Tuesday, VHHS Librarian Monica Caldicott visited Kristin Bolsinger’s Summer School Creative Writing class to introduce students to fiction books that break traditional storytelling conventions. Students explored works featuring innovative structures, distinctive narrative voices, and creative uses of media, providing inspiration for their own writing and expanding their understanding of the many ways stories can be told.

Wildcat Athletics Postseason Update

The excitement continues for our Wildcats!

Boys LHS Boys Volleyball is headed to the state tournament following yesterday's victory over Loyola Academy. The Wildcats will take on Wheaton North in the state semifinals on Friday, June 5, at 11:30 a.m. at Bolingbrook High School.

LHS Baseball captured the regional championship with a win over Stevenson on Saturday and continues postseason play today, June 3, against Mundelein at 2:00 p.m. at LHS. The sectional championship game returns to LHS on Saturday, June 6, at 10:00 a.m.

Yesterday in Field and Restoration Ecology, Jennifer Kahn and her students returned to the Prairie Courtyard to build on Monday’s work, making additional field observations and recording new findings. They then explored the Libertyville High School campus, examining the environment through an ecologist’s lens to determine whether it functions as a habitat and identify the features that support local ecosystems.

D128 Summer School is underway! ☀️📚
Nearly 400 students began their summer learning journey today, participating in a variety of courses and enrichment opportunities offered at Libertyville High School. We’re excited to see our students continue learning, growing, and exploring new interests throughout the summer.
