NOTICE OF VACANCY - TOWN COUNCIL POSITION



Notice is hereby given that pursuant to the provisions of Utah Code 20A-1-510, vacancies will exist on the Vernon Town Council as August 5, 2026. The Vernon Town Council is soliciting qualified persons (a registered voter, who has resided within the Town of Vernon for 12 consecutive months prior to August 5, 2026, and in accordance with Utah Constitution Article IV, Section 6, is not a mentally incompetent person, a person convicted of a felony, or a person convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise) who are interested in being appointed to fill this vacancy to submit their name for consideration. The appointment will continue until January 2027, at which time the position will be filled pursuant to the next municipal election.



The Town Council will meet at the Vernon Town Fire Station, 325 South Main Street, Vernon, Utah on Thursday, September 3,2026, at 7:00 p.m. to consider appointing qualified persons.

Congratulations to our newest North Tooele Firefighters!

Today we celebrated the Tooele County Fire Academy 2026 graduating class. These firefighters, along with those from Tooele County Fire, Tooele City Fire, Grantsville Fire, Stockton Fire, and Vernon Fire marked the end of a 6 month journey that started as strangers, continued as cadets, and ended as firefighters. Somewhere along that line, they became something even more significant. Family.

Congratulations Firefighters. Now go clean the truck. 😉
