We are also a 501(c)(3) charity so that you may be able to deduct gifts from your annual income tax returns. Who are the Friends of the Library? The Friends of the Library is a group of volunteers who support and enhance the local branch of their public library system. What do the Friends of the Library do?
*Provide musical, informational, and children’s programs
*Sponsor annual scholarships for
high school students
*Coordinate monthly displays in the library
*Assist with book sales
*Attend meetings
What if I want to support the Friends of the Library, but I don't have the time to attend meetings or attend the book sales? We welcome all of the support that our community can provide, but if you don't have time to be an active member, that's OK! There are several ways that you show your support for our group.
*First and foremost, tell your friends and family about us and get the word out about our programs and book sales.
*Participate in any of the programs that we host which interest you and if you have an idea of what types of programs you would like us to host in the future, let us know.
*Donate gently used books, CD's VHS, and DVD's for us to sell during our book sales. Please note that we do not accept textbooks, dictionaries, or books that are older then 20 years, or in poor condition. If you have books that you no longer want, and we would not accept, please don't hesitate to take them to your local recycling center.
*Come to our book sales and purchase items that interest you.
*Purchase any of the books that we sell in the lobby. The circulation desk has a box where you can pay for them.
*Give us a one time donation. Did you find some books that you liked in our lobby or at our book sale that cost you $2, but you think they're worth $5? Great!
* And finally, become a supporting member by filling out an annual membership form and providing us with your membership fee. To download the form, please visit http://www.sussexcountylibrary.org/friends_dh.htm
