VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT in the Village of Vernon 2026 General Election - Tuesday November 3, 2026:

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote by an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered to receive an absentee ballot. Registered voters can also request an absentee ballot by logging into myvote.wi.gov

TO OBTAIN AN ABSENTEE BALLOT YOU MUST MAKE A REQUEST IN WRITING AND PROVIDE A PHOTO ID.

Contact the Village of Vernon Administrator Clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the election. You may also request an absentee ballot by letter. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature.

Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, overseas, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact Karen Schuh.

You can also personally go to the clerk's office, complete a written application, and an absentee ballot will be mailed to you.

THE DEADLINE FOR MAKING AN APPLICATION TO VOTE ABSENTEE BY MAIL IS 5:00 P.M., ON THE FIFTH DAY BEFORE THE ELECTION, OCTOBER 29, 2026. (MILITARY ELECTORS AND OVERSEAS VOTERS SHOULD CONTACT KAREN SCHUH REGARDING THE DEADLINES FOR REQUESTING OR SUBMITTING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT).

VERNON’S ADMINISTRATOR CLERK WILL DELIVER VOTED BALLOTS RETURNED ON OR BEFORE ELECTION DAY TO THE PROPER POLLING PLACE OR COUNTING LOCATION BEFORE THE POLLS CLOSE ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2026. ANY BALLOTS RECEIVED AFTER THE POLLS CLOSE WILL NOT BE COUNTED, PER WISCONSIN STATE STATUTES!

🚸 HELP US KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE! 🚸

As the school year begins, please remember to stop at least 20 feet from a school bus when red lights are flashing — the moment they’re activated!

Children can be unpredictable and may cross before the bus fully stops. Slow down when you see yellow lights and never try to beat the red.

Let’s all do our part to keep our Village of Vernon students safe.
