The Summer Meals Crew has served the youth of our community throughout the summer season. The team of Summer Gonzales, Karen Roberts, Leecy Smith, and dedicated student workers, has provided thousands of meals since they kicked off the summer meal program in late June. The final day of service will be Friday, August 21st. Thank you to the Summer Meals Crew for your outstanding efforts, which have made a significant impact on our community.

VSD would like to give a shout out to the dedication and hard work of the students participating in the Work-Based Learning Program this summer. Every student who started the program on July 1st made a remarkable commitment and demonstrated significant strides in developing essential skills to become a valued employee. Summer tasks completed include; 1. Thorough cleaning and reassembly of classrooms following floor waxing. 2. Assisting in summer meal program lunch preparation. 3. Landscaping duties, including w**d eating and trimming. 4. Distributing new mulch/bark across school grounds. 5. Pressure washing. 6. General maintenance. The program is under the direction of crew leader Russell Spaulding and Assistant Crew Leader Melanie Holsey. Thank you all for making our school a better place!
