At our meeting on January 17, 2022, the topic was Portable Document Files (PDFs). The minutes from that meeting are available herehttps://www.vrcc.info/uploads/4/9/8/5/49857803/20220113meetingminutes.pdf
We demonstrated how to create PDF's by Exporting to PDF from software and printing to the Microsoft PDF printer. We showed the difference between having Adobe and Edge as your primary PDF handler. And lastly we and how to do simple PDF editing, such as extracting a page, and merging PDF documents into a single PDF using PDFsams basic edition. We didn't update our safe Links page, because the official download site has ads that can fool you into downloading unwanted software and we were afraid that people who didn't see the demo would inadvertently install things they shouldn't.
On May 12th Zdnet published an article by staff writer Maria Diaz entitled "How to combine pdf on both windows and mac easily and securely" using Adobe's on line tools. You need an account, and you are limited to combining to using 2 premium operations per month, but it is something to be aware of if you do not want to risk installing software.
