Greetings, everyone! NCCS is working hard to integrate robotics instruction and innovative tech strategies into our core curriculum, and extra-curricular activities.
Florida schools are required to articulate acceptable use of AI by students and employees by July 1, 2027. The faculty and leadership are working on related policy and plans to be presented to our Board in November. Although use of the traditional acronym "STEAM" is known to relate to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math," we have to begin to think beyond this in terms of how AI / SI should be managed in virtually every aspect of what we do.
The school has worked diligently to secure critical tech resources, such as promethean systems in every classroom, chromebooks, TrueRobotics (Pilot and Treads robots), LocoDrones and Cetus Racing Drone systems, computer lab units and more.
Next, we want to sustain, grow and augment these initiatives and explore tech integration more formally, and elementary level leadership in the AI / SI realm in responsible and ethical ways that can prepare our students for the inevitability of a high-tech, rapidly changing world. Tech experts are now predicting that what changed in the last 100 years will accelerate to comparable progress over just the next 10 years.
