One year. One mission. Still going UP. 💙

Today we’re celebrating our STEP graduates who have officially reached their 1-year employment milestone with Indian River Habitat for Humanity!

From showing up in the classroom to showing up on the job, these graduates have continued to prove what’s possible through hard work, consistency, and determination. Their success is a reminder that when people are given the right support, opportunity, and encouragement, they can build a stronger future for themselves and our community.

We are so proud to see our graduates standing strong one year later, continuing to grow in their careers and make an impact through meaningful work.

Congratulations on one year of employment — keep building, keep growing, and keep going UP! 👏

Today we celebrate Cohort 79 on their graduation from STEP!🎓🎓

We could not be prouder of the hard work, growth, and determination they brought every step of the way.

This graduation was extra meaningful as it also marked Success Coach Samantha Maurice last day with United Against Poverty. Sam has played an important role in encouraging, guiding, and supporting our participants as they work toward employment and long-term success.

Congratulations to Cohort 79 on taking this important step forward, and thank you, Sam, for the impact you’ve made on our STEP participants and team.

Once you’re part of the UP family, you’re always part of the UP family!

This Memorial Day, United Against Poverty of Indian River County pauses to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom carries a responsibility: to care for one another, especially those who have served and the families who continue to carry that legacy.

That commitment is reflected right here on our campus through our partnership with the Veterans Council of Indian River County. Earlier this year, the Veterans Council relocated its office space to UP IRC’s campus, creating a more connected resource hub for veterans, their families, and neighbors facing economic hardship.

Together, this partnership helps provide easier access to veteran-focused assistance, food support, crisis stabilization, workforce development, transportation resources, and other services in one shared location.

Memorial Day is a time of remembrance, but it is also a call to action. By working together, we can honor those who gave everything by continuing to serve those who served, strengthening families, and building a community where support is easier to find.
