📢Labor Day Garbage/Recycling Service Schedules
There will be no residential curbside services for recycling, garbage, or yard waste on Monday, September 7th. Services will be shifted by one day.
Mon. customers will be serviced on Tuesday, Sept. 8th.
Tues. customers will be serviced on Wed., Sept. 9th and this will continue though Saturday. Friday customers will be serviced on Sat., Sept 12th. If you have questions regarding your service schedule, please call WM at 772-569-1776 or visit www.wmFloridaHoliday.com ⬅ ♻ The 5 Customer Convenience Centers and the Main County Landfill
will be CLOSED on Monday, September 7th.

At Monday evening’s International Overdose Awareness Day Vigil, Commissioner Laura Moss read a proclamation signed by all five members of the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners.

The vigil was a time to remember those lost to overdose and support the families and friends who miss them. This year’s theme, “25 Years On. Still Needed.” speaks to the work that continues to prevent overdose and help people find support.

Thank you to Thrive IRC for supporting the vigil and for the prevention education and recovery services it provides here in Indian River County.

This September 11 will mark 25 years since a day that changed our country forever. Today, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners proclaimed September 11, 2026, a Day of Remembrance and Reflection.

We remember the 2,977 people killed that day and the courage of those who stepped forward to help. We also remember the responders and survivors who have since died from related illnesses, and those still living with the effects. For so many families, this loss remains deeply personal.

We invite our community to come together with first responders from across the county for the Indian River County 9/11 Memorial Ceremony.

Doors open at 8 a.m. | Ceremony begins at 8:30 a.m.

May we carry that remembrance into how we serve our neighbors and care for one another.

🚧 TRAFFIC UPDATE: OVERNIGHT ROAD CLOSURE RESCHEDULED

Due to scheduling changes, the overnight road closure on Indian River Drive between Davis Street and Jefferson Street has been rescheduled to Wednesday, August 26.

📅 New Date: Wednesday, August 26
🕒 Time: Overnight

Indian River Drive will be closed to through traffic during the scheduled work hours. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route and follow posted detour signs and the direction of traffic control personnel.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as the Indian River County Department of Utility Services (IRCDUS) completes this important utility work.

As a follow-up to our recent traffic advisory, the Indian River County Department of Utility Services (IRCDUS) and the City of Sebastian would like to remind motorists of an upcoming overnight road closure on Indian River Drive.

📍 Location: Indian River Drive between Davis Street and Jefferson Street
📅 Date: Tuesday, August 25
🌙 Time: Overnight

The closure is necessary to complete utility work in the area.
Please plan ahead, use an alternate route, and follow posted detour signs and the direction of traffic control personnel. Local access will be maintained where possible.
We appreciate your patience as we complete this important infrastructure improvement and apologize for any inconvenience.
