This is the official page of the Indian River County Young Democrats (IRCYD). We are currently restructuring and plan to re-launch our organization soon, hopefully in January, 2016. We are a political organization in Indian River County, Florida, affiliated with the Florida Young Democrats, the Young Democrats of America, and the Democratic Party of the United States. Our members are between the a
ges of 14-39, and are rather registered Democrats, or their political views clearly identify with the Democratic Party. We hope to enter area high schools and colleges and launch Democratic clubs once we recruit enough members and have people willing to run these clubs at area schools. The Indian River County Young Democrats as a whole will hold monthly meetings, likely starting in January, 2016. What we do as the Indian River County Young Democrats, is promote the ideas of the Democratic Party and help propel its candidates to victory. We speak out on issues that are important to us, lobby legislators at the city, county, state and federal levels to act on those issues, and get petitions going through social media and email to get people to speak out about issues that are important to us. A major thing we do is register people in our area to vote, and highly encourage them to get out and vote, to exercise their right, and let their voice be heard! We also work with our local Democratic Party, Supervisor of Elections office, and local politicians to help out with their campaigns, and raise money for campaigns and the Democratic Party through fundraisers. - You work for the Democratic Party of Florida
- You work for the Democratic Party at the Federal level
- You are a member of another Young Democrats chapter in the state of Florida
