🐝 See a Honey Bee Swarm? Call a Beekeeper! 🐝

Augusta County ECC receives calls each spring and summer about bee swarms. First responders do not typically respond to these calls unless there is a medical emergency. Honeybees are important pollinators that can be relocated safely instead of calling an exterminator.

As Dispatcher Week comes to a close, we just want to take a moment to say how grateful we are 💛

To everyone who reached out, dropped off goodies, sent messages, or simply took the time to recognize our dispatchers, thank you. The support this week truly meant a lot to all of us.

We’ve had a week full of fun, laughter, a little friendly competition, and time spent together. It’s a good reminder that even on the hard days, the people beside us and the support from our community make a difference. 💛

Yesterday we put a different spin on Spirit Day ☀️🌙

Day shift represented “We See the Sun” by wearing bright colors and sunglasses while night shift kept it true to form with all things dark for Night Shift Appreciation 🖤

This job is serious, and the work we do matters every single day. Even as 911 professionals handling big responsibilities, we take this week to laugh a little more and have fun!

Yesterday, we came together for our annual Dispatcher Week staff meeting, taking time to celebrate and recognize the work we do every day. This year was even more special with our littlest dispatchers joining us!

Our Spirit Day theme was Thin Gold Line Day. Each shift designed their own shift shirts to wear, showing pride in their shift and what they do. The Thin Gold Line symbolizes the dedicated public safety telecommunicators who are rarely seen but always heard. Dispatchers are the golden glue that holds it all together. 💛
