We’ll also have a rock wall, a 77-foot obstacle course, a Nerf arena, soccer darts, a gaming truck, live music, and more happening throughout the park all day long.

Beavers are… still under review.

On Wednesday, our offices will close early at 3:30 PM so staff can attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Augusta County Courthouse.

This is a significant milestone for our community, and all are welcome to attend and help celebrate this new chapter in Augusta County's history.

If you're planning to be in Verona that day, make a lunchtime stop at Food Truck Wednesday before the ceremony. This week's featured truck is Battarbee's — serving up classic favorites and a healthy dose of nostalgia.

Some things mark the beginning of a new era. Some things remind us why we love the old ones.

We visited Sunshine Springs Farm yesterday while preparing for our Sustained Outdoor Learning summer programs… and honestly? We did not want to leave.
The animals, the open space, the quiet, the fresh air — it feels like stepping away from the rush of everyday life for a little while. And this summer, kids get the chance to experience that too.
Our Sustained Outdoor Learning programs are week-long outdoor adventures running Monday–Friday from 9 AM–4 PM, with each week featuring a different location and experience throughout Augusta County.

Explore nature, outdoor play, hands-on learning, and local spaces
Register for just ONE week — or join us for all four!
$100 per child, per week
There is no minimum registration requirement, so families can choose the weeks and locations that work best for them.

Well... Mother Nature had other plans for Opening Day.
Due to chilly temperatures and steady rain across the county, our pools will remain 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄. We are hopeful for a sunnier start on Sunday!

𝗕𝗨𝗧 — the fun is not cancelled everywhere:
The Corn Dog Truck will still be serving up goodness at Natural Chimneys starting at noon
Peeps & Croaks is still hopping on from 7–8 PM at Natural Chimneys

Honestly... frogs probably prefer this weather anyway. (as well as our mascot Ace the Beaver)

Thank you for understanding, and keep your fingers crossed for sunshine tomorrow night and a much warmer Sunday! Until then enjoy this short video of Ace enjoying the Stuarts Draft Pool last season.
