Early vote has begun at the Verona Community Center! In the past few elections - Verona Democrats have loved voting early. Let’s break records again - and support all endorsed candidates including our very own - by using Early Vote for this June 2nd Primary. Early Vote is open from 10 am to 8 pm everyday through Sat. On Sunday, the last day of early vote, the hours are 10 am to 6 pm. Spread the word!

🎓 Verona High School Seniors — Apply for the Verona Democrats Scholarship! 🎓

The Verona Democrats are proud to support the next generation of leaders in our community by offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating Verona High School senior.

If you care about your community and have ideas about making a difference, we want to hear from you!

🗓 Applications are due May 1
📍 Apply through Naviance
✍️ Simply answer ONE of two short questions, including topics like:
• What issue would you advocate for if you could meet with leaders such as the President, the NJ Governor, the Verona Town Council, or the Verona Board of Education?
• How can engagement and voting among young adults be increased?

This is a great opportunity to share your ideas and be recognized for your perspective on civic engagement and community leadership.

Tomorrow night the Verona Democrats are having our Spring Into Action meeting - 7:30 pm at the Verona Community Center. Special guests include County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo, several candidates that will be on the ballot for Essex County Commissioner (including Verona’s own ), and we will be taking up a special collection for families impacted by detention at Delaney Hall. Don’t miss this important update on elections happening on June 2nd.

The Verona Democratic Committee is collecting contributions from our community on behalf of families of people that have been detained at Delaney Hall by ICE or CBP.   

We will be distributing gift cards to volunteers on-site at the detention center, providing help to those who need it. With your generosity, we will buy and provide ShopRite grocery cards for food and Uber/Lyft cards for people that are traveling to visit their detained relatives.  

Donations can be made in person at the Spring Verona Democrats meeting on April 14th - cash is best, but can also offer Venmo transfer on-site.
