The Verona Police Department would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Bryce Losenegger for his outstanding service as an intern with our agency.

Bryce’s time with us was marked by dedication, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to learning. As the first intern hosted by our department in many years, he set a high standard for those who may follow.

Bryce embraced every opportunity to learn, attending legal updates, staff meetings, and community-focused events such as Coffee with a Cop and Prescription Drug Take-Back events. His ride-alongs with officers across multiple shifts, including time with our K9 Unit and Community Service Officer, reflected his strong interest in understanding all aspects of law enforcement.

By volunteering more than 130 hours, he exceeded expectations and consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and positive attitude. His contributions were noticed and appreciated by all members of our department.

Thank you, Bryce, for your hard work, professionalism, and the energy you brought to our team. It was a privilege to have you with us, and we look forward to seeing what you accomplish in the future!

EVENT CANCELLED!!

🚴‍♂️ Bike Safety Rodeo Reminder! 🚴‍♀️

Join us this Sunday, May 17th, from 1:00–3:00 PM for our 11th Annual Bike Safety Rodeo. A free, family-friendly event designed to help kids build confidence and lifelong bicycle safety skills through fun, hands-on learning.

Young riders will practice important skills at interactive stations such as:
• Driveway Ride Out
• Controlled Braking
• A final skills course that brings everything together

The event will be staffed by Verona Police Department officers, with assistance from our valued partners, the Verona Lions Club, the Verona Optimists Club, and Verona Police Cadets.

🍴The Verona Lions Club will be serving hot dogs, chips, and water, and Culver’s will be donating delicious frozen custard🍦

New this year! Representatives from the Wisconsin Bike Fed will be available to provide e-bike and e-scooter education and helmet fittings.

✅ Important Reminders:
• Kids (and parents!) must bring their own bicycles and helmets
• Bikes must be in working condition
• Free bicycle safety checks will be available
• Free bicycle licensing will be offered during the event

Bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun, learning, and community. We hope to see you there!

At last night’s Common Council meeting, Mayor Diaz issued a proclamation recognizing May 10–16, 2026, as National Police Week in the City of Verona.

We appreciate this recognition and thank Mayor Diaz and our elected Common Council members for their continued support for law enforcement and public safety.

This week provides an opportunity to honor the service and sacrifice of officers past and present, and to reaffirm our commitment to serving the Verona community with professionalism and care.
