The Veterans Commissions commends and honors Private First Class Gerardo Hernandez, 19, of Versailles, Kentucky, recently completed basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and advanced individual training at Fort Lee, Virginia. He will be joining Charlie Co, 1st Battalion, 376th Aviation, 63rd Theatre Aviation Brigade as a wheeled vehicle mechanic (91B).

He was driven to join the Guard by a sense of service to his community and country. He was also looking for more discipline in his life.
β€œThe Army is the best thing that has ever happened to me,” said Hernandez. Thank you for your service PFC Hernandez! Godspeed.

Hernandez is currently working in HVAC with plans to attend a trade school in the fall.
