🌤️ Mid-Mo Ambulance District Weather & Safety Update 🌤️

Residents of Moniteau and Morgan Counties, we’re seeing typical summer conditions across central Missouri with hot temperatures, abundant sunshine, and heat index values approaching or exceeding 100°F over the next several days. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms remain possible, so stay weather-aware if you’re spending time outdoors.

Here are a few simple ways to stay safe:

☀️ Stay hydrated. Drink water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty.

🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle. Interior temperatures can become life-threatening within minutes.

👵 Check on family, neighbors, and older adults who may be more vulnerable to heat-related illness.

🏃 Limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, typically between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

🌩️ If thunderstorms develop, head indoors immediately. Remember: When thunder roars, go indoors.

🚜 Use extra caution on area roadways. Increased summer travel, farm equipment, motorcycles, and recreational traffic mean everyone should slow down, stay alert, and avoid distracted driving.

🚑 Know the signs of heat illness: dizziness, confusion, nausea, excessive sweating, or hot, dry skin. If someone is experiencing severe symptoms or becomes unresponsive, call 911 immediately.

Your Mid-Mo Ambulance District crews are on duty 24 hours a day, ready to respond whenever you need us.

Stay safe, stay cool, and have a great day, Moniteau and Morgan Counties! 💙❤️

🚑 Can We Find You Quickly in an Emergency? 🚑

When you call 911, every second matters. One of the simplest ways to help emergency responders reach you faster is to make sure your house number is clearly visible from the street.

At Mid-Mo Ambulance District, our crews respond day and night, in all weather conditions. Missing, faded, obstructed, or poorly lit address numbers can delay emergency responders when time is critical.

✅ Make sure your house numbers are:

* Clearly visible from the road
* Large enough to read from a moving emergency vehicle
* Contrasting in color with the background
* Not blocked by trees, bushes, decorations, or snow
* Illuminated or reflective for nighttime visibility

If your driveway is long, consider placing address numbers at the entrance of the driveway as well.

A few minutes spent checking your address today could save valuable time during a medical emergency tomorrow.

Help us help you. Make sure your address is easy to find.

“Excellence is our Responsibility.”
