In May, we were honored to be recognized for multiple awards at the Susquehanna Regional EMS Council (SREMS) Awards Night! SREMS coordinates EMS across Broome, Tioga, and Chenango counties, recognizing outstanding providers, educators, and agencies each year. We are proud to announce the following honors:

🚑 Harpur’s Ferry Student Volunteer Ambulance Service has been named Broome County EMS Agency of the Year!

We’d also like to celebrate three outstanding members of our Harpur’s Ferry family:

Introducing May’s Member of the Month, Weston Nolan!

Weston is a Sophomore Integrative Neuroscience major who joined Harpur’s Ferry in Fall 2024. He is our current Director of Operations and was the 2025-2026 Equipment, Technology, and Communications Officer! He is an AEMT, Driver/Crew Chief/UTV Preceptor, and a Trailer Driver. His favorite thing about Harpur’s Ferry is “the culture and everyone’s commitment to excellence.”

The membership chose Weston as our Member of the Month because of his hard work in leadership, commitment to becoming cleared and training others, and being a fun and supportive member of our agency.

It was an honor to welcome Harpur’s Ferry founder Sal Caruana and friends back to the squadroom for a luncheon with our members at the end of April. Leadership also had the privilege of attending the Alumni Awards Gala to celebrate Sal receiving the Glenn G. Bartle Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award, a well-deserved recognition of his lasting impact on Binghamton University and generations of Harpur’s Ferry members.🚑🏆
