Another great Vestal Festival today on Front Street with tons of public service participants like Vestal Fire Department, Vestal Police Department, Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad, Inc. and local businesses like Sugar Creek Maple Farm. Kudos to the Town of Vestal Recreation Department and all of the other amazing groups that come together to make this community event a big success!

Congratulations to the Vestal Museum on your 50th Anniversary! Originally constructed in 1881, the train station continues to be a hub for the community these many years later. Tonight's activities included the unveiling of a special anniversary quilt, live music and lots of great exhibits. Awesome job Museum Director Melissa Restuccia on this wonderful event!
And it's always great to see Vestal Historical Society President Terry Stark and Town Historian Margaret Hadsell who do so much to highlight the history of our Town!

A year and a half ago we broke ground on the Crime Victims Memorial at Roundtop Picnic Area in Endicott. Today was a special day as we cut the ribbon -- officially opening a space for remembering and reflecting on those we have lost as a result of crime. This memorial was spearheaded by Hiawatha District, Greater Finger Lakes Council, Scouting America Eagle Scout Schyler Savage, who himself lost his mother due to an act of crime. Supported by so many in the community like Crime Victims Assistance Center, Inc., County Executive Jason Garnar, Broome County Legislature, EXIT Realty Homeward Bound and countless other community organizations, this memorial will remain a place of healing for years to come.

Our community is full of amazing people. I had the honor to meet Bill Clark in the office this morning. A man of strong faith, Bill is a world-class athlete, an inspirational speaker, and he holds a title with Guinness World Records for the most license plates torn in half in one minute. He even gave us a demonstration today! Check out his page, and I'm sure you'll be inspired as well. And he'll make another Guinness Book of World Records attempt at the Binghamton Rumble Ponies game on July 3rd!
