A big step forward! The DeOndra Dixon NIH INCLUDE Project Act has unanimously advanced out of committee and is one step closer to becoming law.

We're proud that our organization and one of our self-advocates traveled to DC to advocate for this legislation during meetings with Alabama's U.S. Senators Katie Britt and Senator Tommy Tuberville earlier this year.

💙 Happy National Best Friends Day!

One of our favorite things about the DSA community is watching friendships grow. Whether they met at a DSA event, through school, sports, camp, or somewhere in between, these connections mean so much.

📸 We want to see your favorite friendships! Share a photo in the comments and tell us how they met. Let's fill this post with smiles, memories, and the friendships that make life a little sweeter!

We’re excited for what’s ahead for the DSA Junior Board!

Applications to join the DSA Junior Board will open later this summer, creating opportunities for young professionals and community members to connect, serve, advocate, and get involved in meaningful ways across Alabama.

We’re also looking forward to welcoming prospective and new members at a Junior Board social this summer — a chance to meet others, learn more about DSA, and hear how you can help support individuals with Down syndrome and their families through advocacy, education, connection, and community involvement.

Stay tuned for more details coming soon!
