Tyler Jones, 14 yrs old ran away from his residence in the 1400 Block of Hwy 465 East Sparta, KY. He was last seen around 5:00pm today, wearing Blue jeans, Black shirt, Brown hoodie, camo jacket, with Blue and White Nikes.

The Switzerland Co. Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff.
Applicants must:
 be a US citizen
 be 21 years of age
 possess a high school diploma or GED
 possess a valid driver’s license
 pass a background and criminal history check
 meet basic physical standards as set forth by ILEA(required)
 pass applicable written testing
 be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
This position includes available health, vision, and dental insurance; retirement package; and paid vacation, holiday, and sick days.
Salary range: $45,500 to $55,500. Starting salary based upon prior law enforcement experience.

****UPDATE ON VEHICLE THEFTS****

Our office has been investigating the thefts of 3 vehicles that has occurred over the last 2 weeks in the Moorefield area. As of today 2 juveniles have been charged in the crimes. I’d personally like to thank the community for their outstanding support and assistance during this investigation.

Our office is currently investigating multiple vehicles thefts that have occurred over the last few days. Primarily the vehicles have been stolen from the Moorefield area with two recently recovered. We ask that you do not leave your keys or any items of value in your unattended vehicles.

On or after Monday, September 23, crews will reduce S.R. 156 to one lane just west of Wade Hill Road near Patriot to complete soil nail repair work in Switzerland County. Temporary traffic signals will be utilized while work is in progress. Work is expected to be complete by late November, weather permitting.

ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION

Our office was just notified of a scheduled closure of state road 56 west of Vevay. The closure is planned to be on or before October 1st for the replacement of two box culverts. The closure is expected to last approximately 4 weeks weather permitting. The roadwork will be between Spring Branch Rd. and Patton Hollow Rd.
