Congratulations to Vici Fire Department member Joseph Thompson; one of 18 volunteer firefighters to graduate from the The Oklahoma Executive Fire Officer Leadership Program.

This pioneer class was the first of its kind in the nation. The program is a partnership between Oklahoma State University - Fire Service Training, Oklahoma Fire Chiefs Association, Oklahoma State Firefighters Association, and the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The 160-hour program utilizes the curriculum from the International Public Safety Leadership and Ethics Institute and has been developed to bring the concepts of leadership and ethics to the forefront of an individual's career. Topics include: Developing a Personal Philosophy of Leadership and Ethics, Leading Others Ethically, Ethical Leadership in Organizations, Ethics and the Challenge of Leadership.

This program was designed to develop executive-level leaders who can effectively address the complex challenges facing today’s fire service and the communities we serve. Joseph’s completion of this program required a tremendous commitment of time, travel, research, professional development, and dedication to lifelong learning. Thank you Joseph & Congratulations!

🔥 A HUGE SHOUT-OUT TO K&S TIRE! 🔥

Taloga Fire would like to give a huge thank you to K&S Tire Inc.for going above and beyond for us yesterday.

While we were working a fire, we had a tire issue on one of our fire trucks. K&S came out right in the middle of the conditions you see in this photo and got us taken care of.

Not long after they finished, the fire made a hard run toward our location. Our crew was able to get the truck out safely—with only seconds to spare. Had that truck still been sitting there with a tire down, this story could have ended very differently.

This is what small-town communities are all about: people showing up when they’re needed, even when the conditions aren’t ideal.

Thank you, K&S Tire, for showing up for Taloga Fire when we needed you. We appreciate you more than you know! 🚒❤️

THANK YOU! For the first time since 2008 Vici Fire Department has purchased a new fire truck! The truck was purchased largely in part with a REAP Grant awarded by the Oklahoma Economic Development Authority. Additional funding was provided by the citizens of Dewey County Public Facilities Authority through the sales tax supporting fire departments! Without YOU the citizens of Dewey County this would not have been possible!
THANK YOU

We appreciate OEDA, Dewey County Public Facilities Authority, Dewey County Commissioners, Town of Vici Trustees, & a very special THANK YOU to the Dewey County Clerk’s Office for assisting us with documentation & meeting deadlines!

We will begin preparing bid packets for the “upfit” soon & hope to have the unit in service in a few months.
