πŸ’¦πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ Learn to Swim This Summer! πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’¦
Registration for the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program will be held at City Park Pavilion (next to City Pool) from Wednesday, May 13 through Friday, May 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and Saturday, May 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. As in years past, Levels group lessons will be taught based on each student’s ability, ranging from Level 1 (beginner) through Level 6 (advanced). Levels courses are open to children ages 5 and up who can stand comfortably in the shallow end of the pool, and there is no maximum age limit for participation.
In addition to Levels courses, Vicksburg City Pool will offer lessons for 3- and 4-year-olds, as well as Beginning Adult classes. All classes are taught by certified water safety instructors. The cost for each two-week session is $15, payable by cash or check only. Classes are structured as eight 45-minute sessions, with two additional days built in to accommodate possible weather cancellations. Three sessions will be offered throughout the summer, with classes held Monday through Friday for two weeks. Both morning and evening class options will be available.
Due to high demand and limited space, early registration is strongly encouraged, especially for Levels 1 and 2 and the 3- and 4-year-old classes. For younger participants, a parent or adult guardian must be in the water with the child. Proper swim attire is required; T-shirts, play clothes, and undergarments are not permitted in the pool.
