Last night, Sheriff Marr and Chief Deputy Will Franklin had the honor of hosting the 6th Annual Victoria County Sheriff's Office Awards Banquet!

This special evening brought our VCSO family together, along with loved ones, to reflect on the challenges we've overcome, celebrate our accomplishments, and, most importantly, recognize the outstanding men and women whose hard work, dedication, and commitment make a difference in our organization and community every day.

🚨 PREPAREDNESS THROUGH TRAINING!

The Victoria County Sheriff’s Office Training Unit would like to extend a special thank you to HeadStart for inviting us to present our Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course!

Approximately 100 participants joined us to learn valuable strategies for recognizing potential threats, responding to dangerous situations, and making critical decisions during an active shooter event.

We appreciate Head Start’s commitment to the safety of its employees and the children and families they serve. Taking a proactive approach to training helps build a safer, more prepared community.

Behind the Badge: Cpl. Justin White

Corporal Justin White has served the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office and our community for more than 28 years. Throughout his tenure, White has worked in the jail and patrol and is currently serving with the Courts Extradition Unit following his promotion to corporal more than a year ago.

White began his career at the Victoria County Jail as a correctional deputy after putting himself through the police academy. He later moved to patrol before joining the extradition team, which eventually became part of the Courts Extradition Unit. Today, he helps supervise the unit while continuing the work he has been part of for many years.

His interest in law enforcement began at a young age. White says he has always been a hands-on learner and was drawn to a career that would allow him to learn through experience, solve problems and take on new challenges.

Over the years, White has had the opportunity to see different sides of law enforcement and grow within the agency. From working in the jail to serving on patrol and later moving into extraditions, each role has given him a different perspective on the work of the Sheriff’s Office and the people it serves.

Outside of VCSO, music is one of White’s biggest interests. He began playing guitar when he was 17 and still plays almost every day. Over the years, he has collected several acoustic and electric guitars, with Jackson guitars among his favorites.

Family is another important part of White’s life. He and his wife have been married for nearly 10 years, and he has three daughters. Two are currently attending college in College Station, while his youngest is a junior in high school.

For White, his career with VCSO has been shaped by years of experience, steady growth, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities. As he continues serving as a corporal, he remains focused on supporting his unit while making time for his family, music, and the interests that are important to him.

REMEMBER: A Victoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy will NOT call you to collect money. If someone claims to be a deputy and demands payment over the phone, it is a scam.

Scammers may impersonate law enforcement officers, government agencies, or other trusted individuals. They may use urgency, fear, or personal information to gain your trust and obtain your personal or financial information.

❌ Do NOT provide personal or financial information to unknown callers or through unsolicited messages.
❌ Do NOT send money, gift cards, or electronic payments to someone you do not know.
❌ Do NOT click suspicious links or follow unexpected instructions.
