NATIONAL PRINCIPALS MONTH SPOTLIGHT: MR. STEVE FREENOR
VIDALIA, GA. – Mr.Steve Freenor brings 22 years of experience in education to his first year as principal. His career includes serving as a teacher, alternative school director, and assistant principal. A graduate of Kennedy High School, Mr. Freenor earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Benedictine College, a Master’s degree in U.S. History from the University of Cincinnati, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University.
Mr. Freenor believes schools can change the direction of a student’s life. As a teacher, he valued building relationships and helping students see new possibilities for themselves. As a school leader, he works to support teachers, strengthen programs, and build a school culture where every student has an opportunity to succeed.
For Mr. Freenor, leadership is about building trust, removing barriers, and helping students and staff know they matter.
What he enjoys most about being the principal at Vidalia High School is seeing students grow, celebrating teachers’ successes, and offering support when someone needs it.
People may be surprised to learn that he lived in Germany for seven years, where he experienced a different culture and gained a new perspective on the world.
One quote that inspires him comes from Robert Kennedy: “Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events.”
Build Different. Built Elite.
