Due to weather impacts and local power disruptions in our area, Vidor ISD will remain closed tomorrow, September 2nd.

VISD will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation and update families through ParentSquare with any changes as they arise.

Oakies, please stay safe!! 🖤💛🌳

Vidor ISD will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1st, due to possible inclement weather from the storm currently in the Gulf. All campuses, facilities, and offices will be closed.

Additionally, all extracurriculars, games, and practices will be canceled after 12:00 PM.

Classes will resume on Wednesday, September 2nd.

Please stay safe, Pirates, and continue to monitor ParentSquare and our official social media accounts for any additional updates.

🧐PBIS - Positive Behavioral Intervention & Support = students earn tickets throughout the week for showing off Oak Forest Elementary model behavior specifically being: Engaged, Responsible, and Kind. The students have hit the ground running this year and are showing off these excellent traits already.

🎉Students place their tickets into boxes of their choice to be drawn at the end of the week and win prizes: Snack, Principal's Chair, Mystery Prize, or Lunch with 2 Friends at the VIP table.

Here's a look at the winners from 8.21 and 8.28! Let's give them a round of applause 👏🏼👏🏾👏🏿 for being great leaders! Keep it up!!

Our teachers and staff can earn Golden Tickets each week for going above and beyond. They may have helped a teacher with a lesson, caught going the extra mile with a student, or given their time and talents to help Oak Forest be the best Elementary it can be. Congrats to these teachers whose names were also drawn for the last 2 weeks. 🏆

We are so excited to welcome our Grandparents and Grand-Friends to Oak Forest Elementary for a special Grandparents’ Week! ​

During their visit, our Grands will have the opportunity to join their grandchild for a special classroom activity AND shop together at our Fall Book Fair! ​

Dear Oakie Families,

At approximately 12:28 today, our fire alarm went off. This was not a planned drill.

Our students and staff quickly responded just as we have been trained to do and safely exited the building within 5 minutes, even though some students were in the middle of lunch and specials. We are incredibly proud of how calmly and efficiently everyone responded.

The fire department promptly arrived and assessed the situation. We were informed that an AC unit was being worked on, and something triggered the fire alarm. By approximately 12:38, the building was determined to be safe, and students and staff were able to safely re-enter.

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for trusting our safety procedures and, most importantly, to everyone who did exactly what they were trained to do to keep our Oakies safe.

This is Team Oakie at its best—calm, prepared, and looking out for one another.
