A line of strong thunderstorms will pass through Dooly County between the hours of 4pm and 6:30pm today expect heavy downpours with some possibility of localized flooding. While driving be aware of water across roadways and the possibility of downed trees.

At the Unadilla Lions Club Veterans Day Ceremony the following American Heroes were honored:

Mr. George Jordan, Vienna
Age 105
Served our Country in Okinawa, Japan during World War II

Mr. Charles Speight Sr., Unadilla
Age 102
Served our Country as United States Naval Pilot during World War lI

Mrs. Lucille Welch, Pinehurst
Age 101 Died July 16, 2024
While Mrs. Lucille was not in the military, she was with her husband at Pearl Harbor during the infamous bombing, when so many American Military, and civilians lost their lives. Mrs. Lucille, served her country in helping out the Hospitals during this time.

In sincere appreciation to our Heroes, our Veterans, past and present, who have given the ultimate sacrifice to the greatest nation on earth so that we can continue to enjoy the freedoms we all hold dear. Thank you for your courage, strength, and sacrifice in keeping us safe!
