We wanted kids and families to come to Vienna for the “Battle” and they did ! We are overwhelmed with all the smiling faces and fun we had playing games. Our brave volunteers just got right in and taught them Jacob’s ladder, Ball in a cup and more. Battle Co****le shared how under protected the colonials were to defend against the British. Yet America won against a tyrant! So many got temporary tattoos- young and older! Thanks to those who made it happen and those who came to experience. We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Here is some information on PARKING in Vienna:

1)We have lots of parking at the Nanticoke River John Smith Discovery Center. The shipwreck and bathrooms are there. Then two blocks to the waterfront activities.

2) Lots of parking at Vienna Town hall and the Ballfield at the corner of Elliott Island Road and Middle Street. An easy two block walk as well. You can stop and make some pottery on the way at 114 Church St.

3) There is street parking but be courteous to resident’s driveway access.

4) There is handicap parking 🅿️ at the Old community building. The volunteer at the Toll House can direct you.

5) This is a pedestrian event. All golf carts need to park before entering Water St.

Place: Vienna Waterfront
Parking: Lot Across from Millie’s and Vienna Community Bldg. lot. Race Street & Water Street will be closed to traffic. Only exception will be emergency vehicles or vendors (while loading & unloading)
Time: 10-4 (Vendor setup only begins at 8:30)

Not only can you buy your ticket at the Customs House on the corner of Water and Church Street but you can also take a peek in. This building is usually not accessible to the public. Thanks to the town of Vienna for allowing us to provide access. It is thought to be the office of a local merchant and used in mid 1700s when Vienna was busy port. The hogshead is an example of the “shipping container” of the day!
