We are once again receiving reports of suspicious text messages being sent to residents. These messages attempt to prey on fear by threatening legal or collection action against the recipient and referencing a fake statute, listed as:
“Illinois Administrative Code, Section 15C‑16.003.”
This statute does not exist.
If you receive one of these messages:
• Do not respond.
• Do not click any links.
• Block the sender immediately.
These messages are designed to trick you into providing personal information or accessing malicious websites. Staying alert and avoiding interaction is the best way to protect yourself.

Our statewide database has identified an unpaid traffic ticket associated with your official profile.
In full compliance with the Illinois Administrative Code, Section 15C‑16.003, should payment not be processed by March 17, 2026, we will enforce the following actions:
1. Formal notice provided to the DMV violation system
2. Suspension of vehicle registration effective March 17
3. 30-day suspension of driving privileges
4. Referral to a contracted toll collection service with an added 55% processing surcharge
