About Sonya: She serves as the Cultural Center Coordinator for the Harry T. & Harriette V. Moore Cultural Center and Museum in Mims, Florida, where she provides strategic leadership in preserving and promoting the legacy of Florida civil rights pioneers Harry T. & Harriette V. Moore. She oversees museum operations, educational initiatives, public programming, community engagement, and special events that connect thousands of visitors, students, educators, and civic leaders with the rich history of the American Civil Rights Movement.
In her role, Mallard cultivates strong partnerships with community stakeholders, government officials, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and business leaders to advance the museum’s mission and expand its impact throughout the region.
