🍂 Welcome September! Fall is just around the corner, and we have plenty of events happening throughout the month. Check out what’s happening!

• September 11 – Patriot Day Ceremony, Fire Station 81, 8:30 – 9:30 am
Join the members of the Villa Park Fire and Police Department and fellow patriots as we pay tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and observe the 25th anniversary of the National Day of Service and Remembrance.

• September 12 – Shred Event, Public Works Garage, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
State Representative Diane Blair-Sherlock and Senator Suzy Glowiak Hilton are hosting a Shred Event at Villa Park Public Works on Saturday, September 12! You can safely and securely dispose of documents containing personal information, including bank statements, tax returns, bills, outdated materials, records, and receipts.

• September 15 – SALT, Villa Park Recreation Center, 10:30 am – 1:00 pm
The next Seniors and Law Enforcement Together presentation is Tuesday, 9/15! Coffee and pastries will be served from 10:30–11:00 am by the Villa Park Police, followed by a presentation at 11:00 am about the difference between wills and trusts. Lunch will be served from 12:00–1:00 pm, provided by the Senior Concerns Commission.

• September 21-27 – Free Fitness Week, Villa Park Recreation Center
Try the group fitness classes and use the fitness center, stretching area, and track at no cost. Just sign in at the front desk!

• September 23 & 25 – Willowbrook High School Homecoming Celebrations
Join Willowbrook on Wednesday, 9/23 for the Bonfire from 8:00-9:00 pm. Then don't miss the Homecoming Parade on Friday, 9/25 at 4:00 pm, running from the Rugaard Gazebo to Willowbrook. Cap off the week at the Willowbrook Football game, with fireworks lighting up halftime around 8:45-9:00 pm!

• September 25 – Senior Fair, Villa Park Recreation Center, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Join the Senior Concerns Commission to connect with local organizations and service providers offering resources on health, wellness, safety, finances, recreation, and more. Free screenings and vaccine opportunities will be available. Free admission—seniors, caregivers, and families are welcome!

• September 25 – Family Bingo Pizza Night, Villa Park Recreation Center, 6:00 – 7:30 pm

🎸 We couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap up our summer concert series!

We had a blast rockin’ the gazebo with Industrial Drive last night! Thank you to everyone who came out, danced, sang along, and helped make our final concert of the season such a great night. 🎶

We also want to give a big shoutout to Original Villa Park VFW Post 2801 for being there throughout the summer to serve up food and beverages and help make our concerts even better! ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us throughout the summer and helped make each concert so special. We truly appreciate your support and for making our summer concert series such a great part of the season!

Yesterday, Village President Kevin Patrick and Village Manager Mike Rivas joined fellow municipal leaders through the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference (DMMC) for a conversation with Senator Suzy Glowiak Hilton.

The discussion covered several issues important to local governments, including the BUILD Act, FOIA, and the Local Government Distributive Fund. Conversations like these provide an important forum for municipalities to share their perspectives, discuss challenges, and work together on issues impacting communities across DuPage County.

Thank you to Senator Suzy Glowiak Hilton for taking the time to meet with local leaders and hear directly about the issues that matter to our communities.
