EII: Cultural Arts for Youth Motto:" Learn To Think"
EII gives youth the opportunity to think their own thoughts. Think through problems and come up with their own solutions.

History: EII programs focus on exposing youth to performing and visual arts and to other positive activities they would not normally experience. What We Do: Field Trips, Education, Performances and Organizational Interface. Field Trips: The trips are designed to expose youth to cultural and historical activities they would not normally come in contact with. The trips take youth to live theater,

museums, art galleries, and festivals; to meet and interview artists; to lectures and to visit activities of different cultures. Educational: Education covers a variety of topics (i.e. how to conduct a business meeting, life skills, etiquette, money management, anger management, and sex education.) Performance: Performances include a variety of live theater productions, from reciting original poems to full length plays. Members also learn the behind-the-scene requirements of stage management, props, lights, sound, etc. Organizational Interface: Organizations whose principals and policies are in accordance with those of EII are identified and some form of interaction is arranged, (i.e. field tirp, education, fund raiser, etc.)

Tomorrow, we join thousands of fellow advocates from across the country in marking the 63rd anniversary of the historic 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. This week, we reflect on the journey that brought us all here. For years, our communities have fought back against discrimination, segregation, and economic inequality to build a future where freedom isn’t selective, justice isn’t delayed, and opportunity isn’t out of reach for any of us.

Sixty-three years ago, hundreds of thousands of brave marchers from across the country and beyond stood together to make a resounding call for justice.
March on Washington

That demand has yet to be fully realized, so tomorrow, we march again with the spirit of those who came before us. Their courage changed the course of history. Now we must carry that legacy forward, knowing exactly what’s at stake.

At this year’s march, we’re fighting for voting rights, economic dignity, and affordability, because our communities deserve to thrive.

Organized in partnership with Rev. Al Sharpton, the National Action Network, the Drum Major Institute, and other partners, March on Washington: Defend the Vote is a strategic moment to educate, recruit, mobilize, and activate people power at a time when we need it the most.

Our access to the ballot box is under attack, families are struggling to make ends meet, and too many people pursuing an education are being burdened with crushing debt. This is our time to act.
