DUI PATROL SATURDAY June 13, 2026 IN EVANGELINE PARISH

DUI Patrol Scheduled for This Saturday in Evangeline Parish

Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department will be conducting a Saturated Patrol in the Parish looking for Impaired Drivers. Deputies will be looking for vehicles operating illegally within the Parish. There have been numerous accidents caused by Impaired Drivers, which have caused serious injuries, and some have even been Fatal. To protect the citizens of Evangeline Parish, the Sheriff's Office will be out in force to deter those who may consider drinking and driving. The EPSO teamed up with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission to work on "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over". We do not want anyone to fall victim to a Drunk Driver. Every effort that we can put forth to eliminate or discourage someone from driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage will help reduce the number of accidents in the Parish.

Sheriff Charles R. Guillory stated, "I would like everyone to have a great time and be responsible. If you're going to drink, please don't DRIVE; have a designated DRIVER".

As always, Sheriff Charles R. Guillory and the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office is seeking information on criminal activity and urge the public to contact their Investigation Department via phone at 337-363-2161 or through the agency's website at www.evangelineparishsheriff.org. On April 1, 2026, I, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office assigned to Criminal Patrol / Narcotics Division, observed a vehicle conduct a left turn without using its signal 100 ft before turning left from Main Street onto Soileau Street. Agents activated the emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, and the vehicle came to a stop on Soileau Street. Upon approaching the vehicle, contact was made with the driver, identified as Kyla Guillot, and the passenger, a 56-year-old white female identified as Stephanie Johnson. Agents advised the driver, Guillot, of the reasoning for the stop. Guillot was advised to provide her license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. Guillot stated she did not have a license in her possession, nor had she ever had a license within the state of Louisiana. Both driver and passenger were asked if anything illegal was within the vehicle, and both Guillot and Johnson stated no and gave agents verbal consent to search the vehicle. At this time, through dispatch agents became aware that Johnson was maintaining a warrant for Failure to Appear in Court. Guillot and Johnson exited the vehicle along with a male juvenile belonging to Guillot.

A search of the vehicle was conducted:

Located in an aluminum can labeled "Altoids" were three baggies, one containing approximately 0.57 grams of Methamphetamine.
Located in a black plastic bag on the passenger floorboard was an open bottle of Taka Vodka.
Both Subjects were advised of their Miranda Rights in which they stated they understood. Stephanie stated that the aluminum can and purple purse was her, but not the narcotics located inside.
