What does Pace mean to you?
For some, Pace might mean a Head Start teacher who helped their child get ready for kindergarten. For others, it might mean help keeping the heat on, a health care appointment, or a resource that helped their family take the next step.
And that's part of what makes Community Action so unique: Pace can mean something different to everyone.
Our work spans Head Start classrooms, reproductive health care, energy assistance, weatherization, financial education, scholarships, community partnerships and so much more. We bring together federal and state funding, local support, volunteers and community partnerships to meet people where they are and help remove barriers to a better quality of life.
We don't focus on just one issue, because poverty doesn't have just one cause; and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution.
Every day, our staff, volunteers, partners and supporters are helping families build stability, helping children get a strong start, helping people access health care and connecting neighbors with the resources they need.
It’s not always work that makes the news. Sometimes it looks like a child walking into their classroom ready to learn, a family staying warm through the winter, a patient getting the care they need, or a neighbor finding a resource that helps them move forward.
That's Community Action: a community taking care of its own and continuing to find ways to do it.
And while our work is supported by federal and state funding, community support makes a difference, too. Your donation can help Pace respond to needs, support programs and provide resources where they can make the greatest impact.
So today, on National Nonprofit Day, we want to ask:
