In early 2026 Ali came to Lotus. While she was with us, she completed her HiSet diploma, applied for/got a job and started working. She also began thinking about what her future was going to look like and how she could make it happen.
Working alongside myself and the Lotus case manager, she was able to research some different options and ultimately decided that Job Corps would be a good fit because they offer safe and secure housing while providing education to help her create a solid foundation for her future.

On Friday, I was invited to see to her graduate from Job Corps with her CNA certification!! She has no plans of stopping anytime soon as she is continuing to her LPN certification before she begins pursuing a degree in Nursing.
Through all of the adversities she has faced so far in life, she has kept that beautiful smile on her face and keeps making plans to conquer the challenges that come her way!

We want to give a HUGE shout out to Skye Long aka the "Garden Girl" and her donation of produce!
This caring and selfless 14 year-old, planted a garden on her own, specifically to help places of need within our community.
If you know her, thank her for helping our community by thinking of people who are often overlooked.
If you know her parents or family, thank them for raising a compassionate human that is putting good into the world.

Need an idea for a silent auction basket?
We are in possession of 6 beautiful Waterford Crystal Stemless Wine glasses, 3 smaller Gorham Wine glasses and a crystal decanter that could be auctioned separately but would much rather share a basket with a good tasting wine from one of the local wineries in our area.
