A prideful kick off to EMS week is upon us, as congratulations are in order again to another one of our amazing members, Torin Mikusa!

Torin graduated last week Magna Cum Laude with his B.A. in Law and Justice from Rowan University.

Torin has been at the Squad with us since December of 2023 and started here as a volunteer first responder before going on and obtaining his EMT certification and moving into a career role.

We are so proud of you and can't wait to see what you accomplish next!

Congratulations are in order to one of our own, Lenor Mazahreh!!! Lenor graduated from Rowan University this week with her Bachelor's in Biogical Sciences. Lenor's next step? Medical school!
We are so proud of Lenor and her accomplishments. Her compassion for others and enthusiasm for knowledge are unmatched. It's safe to say we are lucky to have her!

Great night of training! 🚑🚁🚒
Members from our very own Hampton Lakes Emergency Squad, along with Vincent Fire Company and the Hampton Lakes Volunteer Fire Department, came together for a lecture on trauma triage and helicopter safety.
The session, led by members of the Cooper University Hospital Flight and Trauma Teams, offered valuable insights and up-to-date best practices for emergency responders. Given the unique geographical challenges of our area, this training was both timely and highly relevant.
We remain committed to ongoing education and collaboration to strengthen our skills and continue improving patient care within our community!

🎃✨ Trunk or Treat Fun! ✨👻
Our Deputy Chief and 2nd Lt. staffed the 2nd rig tonight at the Southampton Township School #2 PTA Trunk or Treat! 🚑 🍬
We love being part of community events like this and connecting with our neighbors! We love showing children the ambulance, teaching about what we do, how we help the community and inspiring the next generation of First Responders❤️

Keep an eye out for our am-BOO-lance on Halloween night in the Hampton Lakes development — we can’t wait to see all the ghouls and goblins out and about! 👻🎃

🚑 Training Day Success!
Four of our Hampton Lakes EMTs completed the New Jersey CEVO (Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator) course today right in the Southampton Township parking lot! The CEVO program teaches safe and defensive driving techniques for emergency vehicle operators, including maneuvering, backing, controlled braking, and intersection safety. This hands-on training helps ensure EMTs can respond quickly and safely during emergencies 🚨 👏

🚑 Commendation for Outstanding Service 🚑

We’re proud to recognize EMTs Pena and Mikusa for receiving a Letter of Commendation in acknowledgment of their exemplary performance during a recent motor vehicle accident response.
The incident involved a single vehicle into a tree with an engine compartment fire. Crews from 1710, 172, 1711, and NJSP were on scene performing a rapid extrication and working together to successfully extinguish the fire.
With the helicopter later canceled by Virtua Medics, EMT Pena and EMT Mikusa assumed patient transport, ensuring continuity of care and professionalism under pressure.
Thank you for your dedication, skill, and calm response during challenging circumstances. Your actions are a true reflection of our commitment to excellence in emergency care. 👏🚑🚨

Please join us in congratulating our two newest EMTs!
Firefighter Cheyenne Yohnnson and Probationary Firefighter Mackenzie Tiver have both passed their EMT classes and National Registry EMT tests over the last few weeks, certifying them as Emergency Medical Technicians across the country!
While we do not operate an ambulance or require an EMT certification, we work closely along side of Hampton Lakes Emergency Squad and other local squads for motor vehicle accidents and medical assist calls, sometimes as the first arriving apparatus. Having members with their EMT certifications allows us to start care for patients or assist the ambulance crews when necessary. Mackenzie and Cheyenne join the list of 6 other dually certified members.
