They were taken to the Hardin County animal shelter to get them out of the roadway.

🚨 Flood Safety Alert – Please Use Caution 🚨

Due to recent heavy rainfall, several roadways in and around Vine Grove are experiencing high water and flooding. We urge everyone to use extreme caution if you must travel.

Please remember:
🌧️ Never drive through flooded roadways. It is impossible to know how deep the water is or if the road beneath has been washed away.
🚗 Turn Around, Don’t Drown. A few inches of moving water can carry away a vehicle.
⏳ Allow yourself extra travel time and consider delaying travel if conditions worsen.
📞 If you encounter a flooded roadway, avoid the area and report hazardous conditions to the appropriate authorities.

Our officers are monitoring conditions and will provide updates as needed. Your safety is our top priority.

Please slow down, stay alert, and look out for one another.

‼️PIP has been located! He was hiding in a barn less than two miles from the accident scene. He is back home now. Thanks to all for searching, keeping and eye out and spreading the word.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing service dog that became separated from its owner following the serious injury collision we investigated yesterday at the intersection of Patriot Parkway and Rineyville Big Springs Road.

Pip is an 11-pound Miniature Pinscher. His ears are not cropped and his tail is not docked. He has a primarily black coat and rust-colored markings. He is wearing a faded pink collar with a metal clasp.

Pip was frightened during the crash and ran from the scene. Deputies and citizens attempted to locate him but was unsuccessful. His owner is currently hospitalized in Louisville recovering from injuries and is unable to search for him.

If you see Pip, please do not chase him. Ms. Revel said he is likely frightened and will be reluctant to approach people. If possible, leave a vehicle door open and command “Up” and give him space, as he may be more willing to enter on his own. Pip was rescued from a bad situation and is afraid of white haired men.

🚨One dog from another vehicle involved in the accident was located and taken to the shelter. Pip still has not been located.

🚨 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

The Vine Grove Police Department would like to notify motorists that the traffic signals at the intersection of Joe Prather Highway and Highland Avenue are currently out of service.

When approaching an intersection with non-functioning traffic signals, Kentucky law requires drivers to treat the intersection as a four-way stop:

✅ Come to a complete stop before entering the intersection.
✅ Yield the right-of-way to vehicles that arrived before you.
✅ If two vehicles arrive at the same time, the vehicle on the right has the right-of-way.
✅ Proceed cautiously only when it is safe to do so.
✅ Watch carefully for pedestrians, cyclists, and emergency vehicles.

Please allow extra travel time, avoid distractions, and exercise patience while crews work to restore the signals.

Vine Grove Police Department Seeking Information Regarding Fleeing Motorcycle

VINE GROVE, KY — The Vine Grove Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a motorcycle operator who fled from officers on June 13, 2026.

At approximately 8:30pm, a Vine Grove Police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle in the area of KY313 and Bullion Blvd. The operator failed to stop and fled from law enforcement, traveling through the City of Vine Grove and surrounding areas. For the safety of the public, officers terminated the pursuit.

The Vine Grove Police Department is actively investigating this incident and is asking anyone who may have information regarding the identity of the operator or the motorcycle involved to contact the department.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Vine Grove Police Department at 270-877-2262 or submit tips through 270-351-TIPS(8477). Callers may remain anonymous.

The cooperation of our community is vital in helping us identify individuals who place themselves and others at risk by fleeing from law enforcement.
