Earlier this week Ladder 4 was dispatched to 1002 Summer Rd - Buena Boro for a reported working fire in an apartment. Crews provided manpower and assisted with overhaul. All occupants and pets were deemed accounted for.

Additionally Engine 4 was dispatched for a motor vehicle crash - pickup truck versus utility pole on Main Rd.

Our members handle a variety of emergencies calls 24/7. Company 4 frequently provides mutual aid to Gloucester and Atlantic counties as well. Please use caution and keep our members safe when traveling near any emergency vehicles.

See us this October 6th for a fun and child-friendly 🚒 OPEN HOUSE🚒 . Company 4 members will be offering light refreshments while supplies last. We know fire prevention month lands at a spooky time 👻 but we will be sure to lock away our scary members! See you there.

Tonight our company, along with Company #1 & 2, completed annual driver training for our membership. Drivers hone their skills by navigating an obstacle course which similulates real world challenges in a variety of apparatus types. Well done by all involved.

Its a bird. It's a plane. No, it's Cooper 2 air ambulance! This week our members and surrounding fire depts are sharpening their skills for our work involving life flight helicopters. Training items include how we dispatch helicopters, capabilities and restrictions, designating and setting up landing zones, communicating with the bird, patient care, and safety of the public.

The best thing members of our community can do is keep back at least 200ft to make safety a priority. An incident requiring a medivac helicopter is serious and can be chaotic. Please give our first responders a safe environment to work as time is of the essence. If you plan on taking pictures make sure it is safe to do so and you stay aware of your surroundings.

Our first responders try to offer as much privacy and courtesy to our patients and their family during these operations. We ask that you use your best judgment when it comes to recording social media/photography/video of these scenes. "Treat people as if it was your own family as someday it very well may be."

A special thanks to Cooper University Hospital and their life flight staff for presenting this class. There will be 2 more nights of this training which is top notch if you may end up commanding a landing zone. Stay sharp.

Vineland’s 2026 Independence Day celebration will take place on Saturday, July 4, with a free patriotic concert starting at 7:00 p.m. at Giampietro Park (3231 E. Landis Avenue).

The firework display will launch at approximately 9:00 p.m. from the nearby Vineland High School campus (Chestnut and Brewster roads).

Key Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026 (Rain date is Sunday, July 5)

- Concert Start Time: 7:00 p.m. at the Enrico Serra Band Shell (featuring the Bud Cavallo Trio and the Rowan College Symphony)

- Fireworks Time: ~9:00 p.m.

- Primary Viewing Location: Vineland High School grounds / Giampietro Park

Firefighting; often times it's a "legacy" trade. It's a blue collar job filled with hard work, commitment, nonstop education, and camaraderie. We see sons and daughters following in a parent's footsteps. Many times this can span several generations.

Rarely do we see this in the reverse order but it's a sight to behold when it happens! It takes a special, driven, and talented parent to follow in the steps previously taken by their child. Steps full of pride and dedication to join forces doing "the best damn job in the world - firefighting and helping people!"

Pictured here is our very own FF Jessica Ritter (right) . Jessica graduated the Cumberland County Fire Academy in 2024. Her hard work and commitment to Company 4 is undeniable. The gentleman next to her is her father, John Ritter. John had recently become a recruit with Company 4 and we are thrilled to announce his graduation from the Cumberland County Fire Academy class of 2026, joining our ranks as a full member following his daughter. We can certainly state that FF Mr. J Ritter has some very large boots to fill! Congratulations. Now the real work begins.

Earlier this week Company 4 members participated in training hosted by the Vineland Fire Department involving search & rescue techniques in an acquired structure slated for demolition.

This was a phenomenal training opportunity that provided realistic scenarios that our firefighters face in our community. Our members honed their search skills using blacked out face masks to simulate smoke conditions. Teams worked on victim removal and aggressive search skills to find simulated child and adult patients. Our firefighters practiced removing victims from 2nd floor windows using ground ladders and team work.

Well done by all and recognition should be given to those in the VFD Training Division.
