We're continuing to monitor the forecast for the upcoming nor'easter that is expected to have significant effects for Cape Cod and the Islands. Some cancellations have occurred today on the Hyannis-Nantucket run, and more are likely as the storm ramps up through Sunday. Please continue to monitor the forecast and our website if you are planning to travel with us.

We have expanded the waiver of change and cancellation fees for travel. Those fees are now waived for travel scheduled for Thursday through Sunday. To change or modify a reservation, please visit our website at www.steamshipauthority.com, call our Reservation Office at (508) 477-8600, or visit one of the terminals.

Additionally, due to changes in vessel assignments unrelated to the storm, booking for vehicle reservations is not available on the Woods Hole-Martha's Vineyard route from Saturday through Wednesday, September 30. Booking will reopen on a day-by-day basis as existing reservations are adjusted, so please continue to check the website for updates if you are trying to secure a reservation during these period.

🌧️ STORM SAFETY MESSAGE — MARTHA’S VINEYARD 🌊

A significant storm is expected to impact Martha’s Vineyard this weekend, bringing strong winds, heavy weather, and the potential for coastal flooding and hazardous travel conditions.

Five Corners in Vineyard Haven is especially vulnerable to flooding. This area has a history of becoming impassable during significant storms, which can create major challenges for residents, businesses, and emergency responders.

🚨 Please plan ahead and stay home unless travel is absolutely necessary.

If you do not need to be on the road, please stay home and allow emergency crews and public safety personnel to move safely throughout the community.

Please:
• Secure outdoor furniture, equipment, boats, and other loose items.
• Avoid driving through flooded roadways. Turn around, don’t drown.
• Keep vehicles out of areas known to flood, including Five Corners, when conditions deteriorate.
• Charge phones and emergency equipment before the storm arrives.
• Check on family members, neighbors, and anyone who may need additional assistance.
• Monitor official weather and emergency-management updates throughout the weekend.

Flooding can change quickly, and conditions on the Island can make emergency response and travel difficult.

The safest place during the worst of the storm is home. Please plan ahead, stay informed, and give our emergency crews the room they need to do their jobs safely.
