Community Open House on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 6 to 7:30 PM at the Vinton Library, 300 S. Pollard Street, Vinton.

The Town of Vinton with assistance from a planning consultant is updating its Zoning Ordinance - and we want to hear from you at our Community Open House! This important update will help shape how Vinton’s neighborhoods, business districts, housing, and development grow and change in the coming years. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided!

WHAT TO EXPECT: Move through the room at your own pace and visit our interactive information stations:

-See the Proposed Concepts: View the proposed zoning concepts and how they compare with current zoning.

-Neighborhood & Property Questions: Talk one-on-one with planning staff and consultants about how the proposed changes may affect your property or neighborhood.

-Business & Growth: Learn how the proposed zoning updates may support local business, housing opportunities, redevelopment, and future growth.

-Share Your Voice: Provide comments and suggestions through a quick comment card. Your feedback will help inform the zoning update.

WHY YOUR ATTENDANCE MATTERS: Zoning regulations help determine what can be built, where businesses can locate, what types of housing are allowed, and how development occurs throughout Vinton. Whether you are a homeowner, business owner, renter, property owner, or simply care about Vinton’s future, your input matters!

Short on time? A 15-minute visit is plenty of time to look at the displays and talk with staff.

Coming straight from work? Stop by, grab a snack, and share your thoughts.

Bringing the family? This is a casual, family-friendly event.

STAY INVOLVED: Can’t make it to the meeting, but want to stay informed? Information about the proposed zoning changes and opportunities to provide comments will also be available online through the Town of Vinton Planning & Zoning Department webpage at: www.vintonva.gov/ZOupdate
