Looking for an affordable, creative space in the heart of the St. Claude arts corridor? St. Claude Arts has small art retail space and art studio space available. It's ideal for artists, makers, and creatives looking to work, show, and/or sell.

To inquire about rent, square footage, layout, and availability, please call Wendy at 985-445-3065.

St. Claude Arts is an initiative of the Meraux Foundation created to support artists, small creative businesses, and the cultural economy of St. Bernard Parish. The project activates a two-block stretch of St. Claude Avenue with affordable art retail, studio, and creative workspace, transforming underutilized properties into places where artists can work, exhibit, and connect. The campus also includes the St. Claude Arts Park, which hosts regular markets, and Zeitgeist Theatre & Lounge.

Twenty-two years ago, St. Bernard Parish lost one of its most devoted champions, Arlene Meraux. Her passing in 2003 marked the end of a remarkable life, but the beginning of a legacy that continues to guide the parish forward.

When Arlene founded the Meraux Foundation, she asked her niece, Rita, to manage it with one clear instruction: use the land Arlene transferred to the foundation to improve the quality of life in St. Bernard. That simple principle still guides the work of the Arlene and Joseph Meraux Charitable Foundation.

Today, under the leadership of Board President Rita Gue and directors Floyd Gue, Bill Haines, Chris Haines, and Sidney Torres III, the Meraux Foundation continues to follow Arlene’s vision through a strategy centered on land use, education, the environment, economic development, arts and culture, and community resilience.

The Arlene & Joseph Meraux Charitable Foundation

When Arlene Meraux founded the Meraux Foundation, she asked her niece, Rita, to manage it with a simple guiding principle: to ensure that the land resources that Arlene transferred to the Foundation would be used to improve the quality of life in St. Bernard.

Meraux Foundation’s work is focused in five key program areas designed to fulfill its mission:
