Virden Car Show The Annual Fred Britenstine Car Show was started as a way to pay tribute to the legacy of the late Fred Britenstine in local hot-rodding community.

Join us the Saturday before Father's Day on the square in Virden, right along historic Route 66 for great food, family-friendly fun and a terrific display of cars, trucks and motorcycles. Fred Britenstine was a motor-head and hot-rod enthusiast who was well-known in the hot-rodding community for his numerous cars and trucks. He possessed a vast knowledge of anythin

g with motors and wheels. Fred was a mentor and friend to everyone who had the privilege of meeting him and would not hesitate to do anything for anyone. Fred was a loving and devoted family man who is survived by his wife carol, a son Scott, and two graanddaughters, Chelsa and Kellee.

Great big thanks to everyone that had a hand in planning, all the volunteers, all the vendors, all the participants and everyone that came out to enjoy the beautiful day!! The car show was a huge success!! We broke a record with 100 registered participants! It was so great to see the square buzzing!! Put it on your calendar for next year! It’s always the Saturday of Father’s Day. It will be the 20th year celebration!

Thank you to everyone who attended, registered, volunteered, sponsored or set up a booth today. The weather was excellent, we had 100 vehicles registered, and the 19th Annual Fred Britenstine Memorial Car Show is in the books. We will be back next year for the 20th Annual event, as always on Father's Day weekend on the day before Father's Day which according to my very precise calculations is June 19th, 2027. We hope to see everyone from this year and then some.
Stay tuned here for more updates throughout the year, and keep the rubber on the road.

We want to take an opportunity to brag. We had a record 100 registrations this year. It may not sound like much to some people, but we are excited. Thank you to all of our attendees, sponsors and volunteers for making it a great show this year!
