What a great hunt today at Tar River! Thank each and every one of you whether being judges, participants, or sponsors. With you all we would not be able to make this fundraiser a success. So thank you again. Here are the results and also some pictures.

We recently received a grant through the Virginia department of fire programs for PPE. We are grateful to be able to have this gear. Thanks also to Fire and Safety Equipment, the gear looks great! Our members will get great use out of them!

We will have some nice raffle prizes as usual and also something for the kids like last year!! Come out and support our fire department. We are extremely grateful for the generous support we receive from our local hospital! Thank you for the support you have provided for us and all of our local first responders. Part of a first responder’s backbone is the support we get from our community!!

Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital recently donated $19,000 to local emergency medical services agencies, volunteer fire departments, rescue squads, sheriff’s and police departments serving Halifax County and neighboring communities.

“I would like to extend my sincerest appreciation for the response to the call we received this morning. Thanks to all the members of midway that responded, I know it’s tough at that time of day, thanks again, Thank you to the South Boston Fire Department for providing personnel and equipment, to Halifax County Rescue Squad for their professional medical care, to Franklins for being on standby with equipment, to Virgilina Fire Department for providing personnel, and to the Halifax County Sheriff's Department for assisting with personnel. Thank you to the dispatchers for taking care of the behind the scenes work. It's noteworthy that many people may not realize the frequency with which our county comes together in times of need. One team, One Goal.”

Our community is full of highly dedicated individuals that set aside personal time to provide safety response to those in need. We are extremely thankful for all of those who assisted Midway today!

Looking to add some fun to your event? Contact us to rent our dunking booth! The dunking booth rental supports our efforts to maintain our equipment and building, as well as helping us provide the best emergency service to our community! We transport the booth to your location and set it up!

If you live within a reasonable distance and want to volunteer your time to serve your community Midway Volunteer Fire Department would love for you to join our team!
